What an incredible weekend for the U13A Mid West 49ers at the Orangeville Fall Classic Tournament! The team hit the ice with fire and determination, showcasing their skills and teamwork from start to finish.
In Round Robin play, the 49ers made an impressive mark. They battled to a 3-3 tie with the Lake Erie North Stars, followed by another hard-fought draw against the Orangeville Flyers. But the team wasn’t done yet— in their final Round Robin game, they dominated the Brampton 45’s with an incredible 10-0 victory, securing their spot as the second seed heading into the playoff rounds.
On Sunday morning, the 49ers faced off against the Barrie Colts in the semi-finals. With energy at an all-time high, they cruised to a 6-0 win, advancing to the Championship game.
Sunday afternoon brought the ultimate test. In a thrilling rematch against the Lake Erie North Stars, the 49ers put on a clinic, winning 6-2 to capture the Championship! A perfect start to the season, with exceptional play from every member of the team with medals and the organizations first u13A banner to show for it.
